          <h1>Reference to Legal Metrology Act replaces Standards of Weights and Measures, updating Customs Tariff Act references retroactively.</h1> Clause 55 substitutes the reference to the Standards of Weights and Measures Act in the proviso to sub section (2) of section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act with a reference to the Legal Metrology Act, 2009, and deems that substitution to have effect from 1 March 2011 so that statutory cross references read as referring to the successor enactment.
