of <h1>Finance Bill 2011 imposes 15% safeguard duty on Caustic Soda lye imports under Section 58(1), effective Dec 2009-Mar 2010.</h1> The Seventh Schedule of the Finance Bill, 2011, under Section 58(1), imposes a safeguard duty on Caustic Soda lye, classified under tariff item 2815 12 00 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. This duty is set at fifteen percent ad valorem on imports into India. The period during which this duty is effective is from December 4, 2009, to March 3, 2010, inclusive.
