<h1>Settlement Commission Must Decide on Section 273 Applications Within 20 Days; Automatic Approval If No Decision Made</h1> The Settlement Commission must issue a notice within ten days of receiving an application under section 273, asking the applicant to justify proceeding with it. Within twenty days, the Commission will decide to reject or allow the application. If no decision is made within this period, the application is deemed allowed. For allowed applications, the Commission requests a report from the Commissioner within forty-five days. The Commissioner must respond within forty-five days. Based on this report, the Commission may declare the application invalid within fifteen days, after considering the report, case complexity, and hearing both parties. Copies of decisions are sent to both the applicant and the Commissioner.
