Clause 57 modifies section 127B by replacing specific wording with 'or otherwise.' Clause 58 amends section 127C to allow the Settlement Commission to extend specified periods by up to three months with written justification. Clause 59 revises section 127L, allowing assessees to apply for settlement except in specified cases, and removes a subsection. Clause 60 retrospectively amends notifications from 2002 and 2006 to increase customs duty on electrical energy from Special Economic Zones to 16% and exempts it from a 4% Special Countervailing Duty under the Customs Tariff Act.
