of <h1>Finance Act 2006 amends Indian Stamp Act 1899, revising Section 9(2)(a) and Section 35(a) for clarity.</h1> The Finance Act, 2006, amends the Indian Stamp Act, 1899. In Section 9, sub-section (2), clause (a), it replaces the phrase 'Seventh Schedule to the Constitution' with 'Seventh Schedule to the Constitution, except the subject matters referred to in clause (b) of sub-section (1).' Additionally, in Section 35, clause (a), the proviso is revised by substituting the phrase 'not being an instrument chargeable with a duty not exceeding ten naye paise only, or a bill of exchange or promissory note, shall, subject to all just exceptions,' with the word 'shall.'
