Oath of office requires the Vice President to swear or affirm allegiance to the Constitution and faithfully discharge duties.

The Vice President must, before entering office, make and subscribe before the President or a person appointed by the President an oath or affirmation to bear true faith and solemnly affirm allegiance to the Constitution and to faithfully discharge the duties of the office.
