Article 391 authorised the President to order necessary amendments to the First and Fourth Schedules to give effect to actions taken under the Government of India Act, 1935, permitting supplemental, incidental and consequential provisions and treating references to those Schedules as references to the Schedules as amended; the provision was later omitted by constitutional amendment.
