Currency futures membership criteria: eligible AD Category I banks may trade and clear; non compliant banks limited to client participation.

Membership in the currency futures market must be separate from other segments and trading and clearing membership is subject to SEBI guidelines. AD Category - I banks authorised by the Reserve Bank may be trading and clearing members if they satisfy prescribed minimum prudential requirements and adopt Board approved guidelines for trading, clearing and risk management. AD Category - I banks not meeting the requirements and Urban or State Co operative banks may participate only as clients with Reserve Bank departmental approval.
