Service commencement follows reporting at the intimated place and time; afternoon reporting shifts it to the next working day.

Commencement of service is deemed to occur on the working day when an employee reports for duty at the place and time intimated by the Competent Authority, unless otherwise provided under the regulations. Where an employee reports for duty in the afternoon, service is deemed to commence on the next following working day.
