Employer and medical practitioner disease reporting duties apply for specified occupational diseases under labour safety rules.

Employer notification is required when a worker contracts a disease specified in the Third Schedule to the Code. The employer must promptly send notice, electronically or by speed post, to the Inspector-cum-Facilitator or Chief Inspector-cum-Facilitator with prescribed particulars of the employer, establishment, patient, disease, medical practitioner, and whether the case has been reported to the Medical Officer. A qualified medical practitioner must also promptly report in writing to the Chief Inspector-cum-Facilitator when a person employed in an establishment is, or is believed to be, suffering from such a disease.
