Public institution workshops may be exempted from the safety code, but hours and holidays require an approved, not-less-favourable scheme.

The appropriate Government may, subject to necessary conditions, exempt workshops or workplaces attached to public institutions for education, training, research or information from all or any provisions of the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020. Exemptions affecting hours of work and holidays require an approved scheme regulating hours, meal intervals and holidays for employees, attendees or inmates, and the scheme must be not less favourable than the Code's corresponding provisions.
