Severability of exempt information permits disclosure of non exempt parts with a specified notice detailing reasons and review rights.

Where a request is rejected due to exempt information, the non exempt portion must be reasonably severed and provided. The Public Information Officer must notify the applicant that only the severed part is supplied, give reasons and factual findings with reference to relied material, identify the decision maker by name and designation, detail fee calculation and amount payable, and explain the applicant's review rights, relevant senior officer or information commission, time limits, procedures and other forms of access.
