Protection of consumer rights: State Councils must promote and safeguard consumers' statutory rights under relevant law.

The Objects of the State Council require the State-level Consumer Protection Council to promote and protect the rights of consumers set out in clauses (a) to (f) of section 6, giving the Council a statutory mandate to advance public awareness, advise on consumer policy, and safeguard consumers against unfair trade practices and deficient services within the State.
