Split bench decision: when judges are equally divided, another judge gives an opinion and judgment follows that opinion.

When a High Court Bench hearing an appeal is equally divided, the appeal with their opinions is to be laid before another Judge who may hear it and deliver an opinion; the judgment or order shall follow that opinion. If any Judge of the original Bench, or the Judge before whom the appeal is laid, so requires, the appeal shall be re-heard and decided by a larger Bench.
