Part delivery transfers property in goods when delivery is in progress, except when intended to sever it from the remainder.

A delivery of part of goods made in the course of delivering the whole operates for the purpose of passing the property in those goods as if the whole were delivered; but where the part is delivered with the intention of severing it from the remainder, that delivery does not transfer property in the remainder.
