Rash driving or riding on a public way is an offence where operating or riding a vehicle in a rash or negligent manner that endangers human life or is likely to cause hurt or injury is punishable by imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to six months, or by a fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or by both.
