Printing or publishing the name or any matter likely to identify a person alleged to be a victim of certain sexual offences is punishable by imprisonment up to two years and fine, subject to written exceptions: by the investigating police officer acting in good faith, by the victim, or-if the victim is dead, a child, or of unsound mind-by next of kin; the next of kin may only authorise the chairman or secretary of a recognised welfare institution recognised by the Central or State Government.
