Mischief by damage to public resources - causing water, transport or navigation harm attracts specified imprisonment and fines.

The provision criminalises acts that cause or are known likely to cause diminution of water supply, render public roads, bridges or navigable channels impassable or less safe, cause inundation or obstruct public drainage, destroy or move navigation signals or official land marks, and use fire or explosives to damage property. Penalties vary by act: up to five years' imprisonment for water, transport and drainage harms; up to seven years for navigation sign damage and property damage by fire or explosives; up to one year for landmark damage; and life or up to ten years' imprisonment where fire or explosives destroy places of worship, dwellings or custody of property, with fines as prescribed.
