The provision criminalises buying, hiring or otherwise obtaining possession of a child with intent or knowledge that the child will be used for prostitution, illicit intercourse, or other unlawful or immoral purposes, and prescribes imprisonment and fine. It establishes a rebuttable presumption that a prostitute or brothel keeper who obtains possession of a female under eighteen intended her use for prostitution. "Illicit intercourse" is defined by reference to the related provision.
