Circumvention of countervailing duty: government may extend duties to altered, disassembled or re originated articles to prevent evasion.

The amendment adds a provision authorizing the Central Government, after inquiry, to extend an existing countervailing duty to other articles when it reasonably believes that circumvention of countervailing duty has occurred by alterations in description, composition, import as unassembled or disassembled goods, change of country of origin or export, or by any other manner that renders the duty ineffective.
