Appointment of auditor permits Board to order inspections with inspecting officer powers and binding compliance obligations.

Regulation 63A empowers the Board to appoint an auditor to inspect or investigate the books, accounts, records, documents, infrastructure, systems, procedures and affairs of a depository, participant, beneficial owner, issuer or its agent; the auditor has the same powers as an inspecting or investigating officer and the duties and cooperation obligations of the entities and their directors, officers and employees under the companion provision apply to such inspection or investigation.
