Designated Court jurisdiction: exclusive trial forum with power to join related offences in the same proceeding.

Designated Courts are constituted by the appropriate Government with the Chief Justice's concurrence by notification and must be presided over by a judge of specified seniority; they have exclusive jurisdiction over matters under the Act and may, in the same trial, try other offences with which the accused may be charged under the Code of Criminal Procedure when proper for joinder.
