The Bill substitutes the proviso to section 7(1) of the Indian Post Office Act to provide that until the Central Government issues a notification fixing rates of postage and other sums, the First Schedule rates shall be the rates chargeable under the Act, and it omits subsection (2) of section 7 as consequential to that substitution.
