Witness allowances: employers' allowances preferred; Registrar estimates and party deposits where no employer provision exists.

Government servants summoned may draw travelling and daily allowances admissible by their employer. If no employer provision exists, the Registrar estimates a sum to defray travelling and other expenses according to the witness's status, and the party applying for the summons must deposit that estimated amount with the Registrar prior to issuing the summons. For witnesses summoned as court witnesses the Registrar's estimate is paid as directed by the Tribunal. The same rules apply to interpreters for payment of batta.
