Register of charges requirement: companies must maintain and promptly update a charges register and preserve charge instruments.

Companies must keep at their registered office a register of charges in the prescribed form and promptly enter particulars of all charges, acquisitions subject to charge, modifications and satisfactions. Entries must be authenticated by a director, the secretary or a board-authorised person. The register is to be preserved permanently; instruments creating or modifying charges must be retained for eight years after satisfaction.
