Co-operative Information Officer ensures member access to society management information, with a right to appeal to the Ombudsman.

Every multi State co operative society shall appoint a Co operative Information Officer to provide members information on the society's affairs and management limited to disclosure norms in the bye laws; members may apply, with any prescribed fee, and the Officer must provide or reject the information with reasons within thirty days; rejected applicants may appeal to the Co operative Ombudsman within one month, whose decision is final and binding.
