Central Government purchase power applies after receipt of transfer statement, subject to hearing and specified grounds.
The appropriate authority, on receipt of the prescribed transfer statement, may order the Central Government to purchase immovable property at an amount equal to the apparent consideration, subject to statutory limitation periods and special reckonings for rectified statements, misfiled submissions and vacated court stays. Before ordering purchase the authority must afford a reasonable opportunity to be heard to the transferor, occupier, transferee and other known interested persons, specify the grounds of the order, and serve a copy of the order on those parties.
