Confidentiality limits disclosure of information from industrial dispute inquiries unless written consent or prosecution exception applies.

Information about a trade union or an individual business obtained during conciliation, arbitration or Tribunal investigations that is not otherwise available through evidence must be excluded from any report or award if the trade union, person, firm or company requests in writing that it be treated as confidential; persons involved in the proceedings may not disclose such information without the written consent of the trade union secretary or the person, firm or company, subject only to disclosure for a prosecution under section 193 of the Indian Penal Code.
